The Audi A8: Equipment and Trim
Virtually every wish granted In line with Audis claim in the luxury class, even the standard equipment on the A8 is very extensive. In addition to the audio system and adaptive air suspension it also includes an anti-theft alarm, for instance, cruise control, deluxe automatic air conditioning with air quality sensor, electrically adjustable seats and xenon plus headlights. Particularly in the luxury class, individuality is one of the most important criteria when choosing a vehicle. The Audi A8 offers the customer a vast wealth options to customise its design and technical features. Individual climate control and gentle massage For example, seats with climate control and massage function are available for the front and rear. Xenon plus with adaptive light, incorporating dynamic cornering light and static turning light, provides optimum road illumination at night, in city traffic or on the motorway. The four-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning allows passengers at the rear, too, to select their required temperature and air distribution settings individually for their seat. A8 drivers rarely have to use their car key in the conventional way: “advanced key” is an optional system that functions as an electronic access and authorisation system. The key which can remain in the driver’s pocket incorporates an electronic pulse generator whose signal is registered and checked by a sensor in the door. If the signal is accepted, the doors are unlocked as soon as the driver operates the button on the door handle. The central locking can be activated and deactivated at any door of the vehicle. All the driver has to do is carry the key on his or her person within a range of about 1.5 metres from the car and actuate the door handle. The passenger can also be the first to open the door if necessary. It is possible to select via MMI whether the central locking should only release the manually actuated doors or unlock all of them. New style package Sport The Audi A8 is the sportiest saloon car in the luxury class. The new style package Sport enhances its dynamic character in terms of design and driving feel even further. This extremely high-quality package contains a number of exclusive elements such as xenon plus headlights with adaptive light and LED daytime running lights, normally the preserve of the top W12 and S8 models. Also adopted from the S8, the sporty top model: the luggage compartment lid with integrated spoiler and the additional external colour, Daytona Grey, pearl effect. The Audi A8 with style package Sport runs on 19-inch wheels with a 5-spoke design; adaptive air suspension sport ensures firmer handling. The heated sports seats in two-tone Valcona leather, the inlays in Vavona wood assam grey with fine aluminium strips and the black headlining create an exclusive ambience in the passenger compartment. The extended aluminium package provides interior highlights. The 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, equipped with paddles, is finished in perforated leather and is only available as part of the Sport package.
