B5 A4 Quattro 1.8t AEB Chirping Noise while decelerating
Hi to all. I am a new registered user to the Forum.
I am also kind of new to Audi's. I consider myself to be a good shade tree mechanic. That being said:
I have a issue that stumped me:
I have a 1997 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T (AEB engine code) Auto Transmission
I have a sound that happens when decelerating it sounds exactly like a bird chirping. Its seems to happen after it warms up a little and the speed or rpm doesnt really matter. If i get going and slip it into neutral it seems to stop. So it will only do it while in gear. Bc of the noise I did all of these repairs and still the noise is there:
Complete timing belt job: including (timing belt, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, water pump, thermostat, all the belts and both acessory belt tensioner and the ac belt tensioner)
New diverter valve
So I am a bit stumped, i just knew it was the DV but apparently it wasnt.
BTW performance is not affected by this issue, but i am afraid if i cant find and fix this issue it will be. Also i think it may be coming from the front right"ish" portion of the engine compartment area.
Any other ideas?
