Epc light and check engine on
Was driving then yellow flashing engine light came on, shortly followed by the EPC light and both kept illuminated. Car now shakes when idle. Replaced one worn out spark plugs but still no change, what could be the problem? 2010 1.8T A3.127k kms

Hopefully it’s just a coil pack. Worn plugs add stress to them. You’ll need a scan to determine which one or if that is truly the case.

I also think it's just a coil pack. Car starts smoothly even though I feel like it lost a bit of power when I accelerate. Will surely have it scanned.

If you got a reader get the codes now. Itll say misfire on cylinder 3 for example. Swap the suspected bad coil to another cylinder and if you than get a code for that cylinder its the coil. If not its something else.

Changed all four coils, running smoothly now. The mechanic reseted the codes but engine light still on, will it go off itself after I drive a couple of kilometers or what?
#6
If the light is on there will be a code present. Something showed back up after clearing or he failed to clear properly. It should be scanned again to see what that is. It COULD go away but that is unpredictable.

All is good now but I just checked that it's using way too much engine oil. Which engine oil should I use to minimise the usage?

My 2013 A4 had 66K miles. Never had a problem with it and then the EPC and check engine light go on while driving on the highway. Turns out the piston failed, cause a backfire in cylinder 2 and a terrible chain of events. I was told that I need an entirely new engine for $13,000 and Audi will provide 0 assistance. This story has become fairly common. I'm left with a beautiful paperweight with a $3500 balance. The dealership and 2 independents all stated that there was nothing I did wrong, the piston just failed. Never Audi.
