GTRS on TT225 not spooling - test for Turbo INNTERNAL leak or defects?
Friends new GTRS is not spooling (takes 4500 to get to 20 psi) and not generating sufficient boost (can't get more than 24 psi with wastegate closed (N75 line to wastegate disconnected)
Also tried to wire the wastegate shut, no difference.
Pressure tested the engine.
Smoke leak detect engine several times.
NO leaks.
We assume the turbo leaks 'internally'. Maybe wastegate is not closing fully?
Pulling the turbo is difficult/time consuming (TT225 quattro is quite difficult; either manifold has to come off, subframe, etc.).
Looking for suggestions to 'test' the turbine/hotside/wastegate with turbo in the car.
Any idea?
