Intermittent start
Hi all,
This is my first post. Thanks for having me
I have a 2012 1.8 TFSI A4. For the last 3-4 months the car struggles to start after standing for an hour or so - and most especially after standing overnight. The engine cranks and everything seems fine, but the car wont start. After struggling for a few minutes - crancking, stopping, cracking stopping - it eventually starts, ALWAYS.
What I have noticed is that the LPFP does not activate everytime when I open the door. When it eventually does activate (I can clearly hear it), the car will start - guaranteed. I know by this time already that when I open the driver door and the LPFP does not activate, that the car will NOT start. Similarily, when I open the door and the LPFP activates, it starts everytime.
Whats we have done so far:
Replaced LPFP
Replaced relays - 646 and another (bigger) one. Cant remember which one.
Checked wiring between door and body.
Replaced the battery of the key
Any ideas what this could be!? It DEFINITELY has to do with the activation (or lack thereof) of the LPFP as it is guaranteed to start when I hear it activate.
Please - I am DESPERATE.
Thanks,
Andre.

If I start the car with the door open, is it true that this will screw up the "door-open" indicator?
