Default Mechanic broke bolt off, should I pay?

I just got a call from the mechanic that is replacing the water pump on my '95 cabriolet. He said one of the mechanics broke one of the bolts off while he was removing it. "due to the water pump leaking, the bolt seized"
The way he was talking their going to charge me for the extra work. My question is, when I get the car should I have the pay for the extra work involved?

Kippu...it is a kind of "fact of life" when working on older cars..bolts can be rusty or frozen and break. Mechanics charge by time and if a bolt breaks ..then you are on the hook for the additional effort. Having done a few Cabriolet water pumps..the working area is pretty tight..get a dollar number for the repair..depending on the bolt location it should not cost more than a hour...unless they need to remove the radiator.
