Default What is this part? 2.8 12v leaking oil

Hello! I just bought my first Audi of any kind, a 1995 d2 2.8 quattro.

it quickly developed an oil leak and I have traced it to here:

this would be the front left of the engine, near the oil cooler. I first thought it would be the oil pressure switch, which would make sense since the oil level warning comes on now and then.
After looking at pictures of the engine it seems this isn't the oil pressure switch?

any help greatly appreciated!

Those oil pressure switches and oil pressure sender "can" (if you have an oil pressure gauge) will leak and make a mess there above the oil filter area. Classic leak.

Great! Thank you for your reply. Then it's of to Audi tomorrow for parts. it looks tight down there, but I hope I can change it with basic tools in my driveway.
