2011 A4 Oil Consumption Issue - Fix quote
Hi there,
I'm new to this forum but looking for some advice.
I have a 2011 A4 2.0 TFSI, which has been having oil consumption issues, and finally, at 112,000 Miles (180,000 km here in Canada), had an oil consumption test run at the dealership.
The test is run over the consumption of the the oil from max to min, and a rate is produced, they never gave me the rate but said it was not performing to spec and should be fixed.
They contacted Audi to see what they would cover through their goodwill program, and they say Audi would cover 90% of the cost of parts (the piston replacement).
Cost would be $2695.67 + tax ($3045 CAD), or $2412 USD.
1) Should I do the repair (is it required, what are my options)
2) Does this seem high? I'm not sure how much of this cost is hours labor, I'd have to find out. They said they'd need the car for a week.
Looking for some sage advice here..

Personally, I'd proceed with that assuming you are going to keep the car.
