Default oil consumption

Just bought 2010 Audi A4, 102K miles. Feeling ripped off right now by the dealer who is good friend of family member, so I assumed he wouldn't screw me, but he did. It's drinking lots of oil. Carfax shows Stage 1 test was done and passed(2012), and I'm seeing recall fixes for under 8 years/80K miles. But I'm also seeing posts that they'll fix it up to 120K miles. I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone regarding if my engine is a dead man walking. My questions are 1. Do I have any chance in having Audi fix the problem with the mileage where it's at and how do I do it? and 2. Is my engine going to die if I keep driving it as is? In other words, other than pain in the butt adding oil all the time, will this issue eventually kill my car?

Having a car that consumes oil excessively can be unnerving. How much oil does it consume? How many miles before you need to add a quart?
