I have a nasty oil leak. Started suddenly. Thought it was the upper timing cover. Replaced the gasket but I noticed the plastic cover doesn't push evenly across the gasket. At first, I could see more of the gasket between the bolts than I thought I should. Over time, it squished down better.
I'm thinking the whole cover should be replaced along with the gasket and seal.
Any thoughts on other likely places to look?
I saw one recommendation to replace the entire front cover, gaskets and the o-ring behind the cam adjuster.
