Misfires after 3 hours only, then doesn’t stop
I have a 07 Audi A3 FSI - 70k miles. This very strange thing happens if I drive more than 3 hours straight. Almost like clock work on the third hour I get misfiring and and lose acceleration power for short moments and then it regains quickly back. After it happens for the first time it usual does it every 2 minutes or so until I get to my destination. I forget the exact code but misfiring was one of them. I did get into a fender bender a while back and the repair shop for sure threw a **** intercooler in there. Could this be the problem? I was thinking fuel pumps, sensors or filter but it only happens when the car gets to a certain temp. Maybe heat soak? Any help?

Usually cold start misfires are a more common symptom of this, but just curious, have you ever had a carbon clean done on this engine? If not, then it's probably high time. Not sure how tuned in you are on the whole carbon build up issue of modern direct injection engines like the 2.0 TFSI.
