Default Radiator Fans Will Not Turn Off

So I’m having the same issues that I’ve read all over the Audi blogs – my fans won’t turn off, even after the key is removed, thus draining my battery. I took it to my local shop and they replaced the battery and here’s what they deduced:

They scanned for codes and got:
P0456: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0456 (P0456 Evaporative Emissions System - Small leak detected)
P1602: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...0/P1602/005634 (18010/P1602/005634 - Power Supply B+ Terminal 30: Voltage too Low)

They tested all vehicle components to diagnose the condition and all they could determine was that it points to an ECM defect or internal short. They tested the cooling fan relay; the fan control module; the CTS; the coolant temp sensor and thermostat. The one thing they didn’t check was the HPFP but he said he was pretty sure it wasn’t the root. The LAST THING I want to do is take it to an Audi stealership but he said that they are really the only one’s who work on ECM’s – replacing or otherwise.

Curious though, is there anything near the driver side front panel/wheel well that could have caused this? I only ask because it just so happens I got into a fender bender the same time all this occurred and there’s a minor dent in the front drivers side panel. Long shot, I know but I thought I’d ask.

Do you guys have any other suggestions? Thoughts? Please help!
