Default 02 sensors codes 17521 & 17539 back after swap

I had a 17521 and a 17539, and got new 02 sensors. The CEL's came back the day after. Still the same codes. What could it be then? Some heating issue for the sensors or what? Any ideas would be great

It's a 2000 A6. A local shop did the install. How is it possible to install the 02 sensors backwards / wrong?? I see the lambdas have been switched, so the did the job properly as far as I can see.

Of course he could have damaged them, but the same code as before? Something else must be wrong. I see the wire going from the harness to the sensor, passenger harness to the passenger 02 and same on the other side. It's not supposed to be the other way around?

I started thinking about a bad MAF, cause I have a KN filter in my filter box and I've heard that the oil on those kill the MAF. Any suggestions?

Default driver's side is the short one and goes to the driver's side O2 sensor.

never heard of a bad MAF causing O2 codes. maybe you're running rich? how is your gas mileage?

Gas milage is good I guess. I live in Norway and we don't calculate the same way you probably do. We calculate how many liters on 10km you use, while you estimate miles per gallon correct? I use about 1 liter on 10km. If I try to do the conversion, that will be about 23 mpg. And the car runs fine. I just dont like that idiotic CEL!

Im thinking about ordering Zoldman sensors to see if that may solve it. But then I would have to go back to the shop to get them installed. Or could anyone give me some tips. I just looked at them and dident see any space to work on. Anyone think it would help to get Zoldmans? Any how do I get to the Drivers side 02?? And what tool can I get down there? I read about a crowfoot, but I dont have one! And Autozone does not exist here

Default there is an O2 sensor removing tool that works well. It looks like a socket with the side

cut out of it. Use that and about 3 12" extensions and attack the driver's side O2 sensor from the passenger side.

Not sure what your driving consists of, but if your O2 sensors were truly bad, you probably wouldn't be hitting 23 mpg.

Zoldmans are just really nice, encased O2 sensors that are longer for the rears. May not matter in your case.

I would be a waste if I got another set of 02's and same CEL returns. I want to check everything else that can cause this error. I think I read somewhere the I use a voltmeter and measure between pin 1 and 2, and it has to be less then 20 OHM? If the value is off, the heating for the sensor is blown and I need a new one. Can anyone confirm this, or maybe even come with more ideas to fix this
