04 Audi A6 2.7T S line Battery Meter ISSUE

The battery meter drops from 14 to 12 when lights urn on and the center cluster gets dim. Brand new battery in it from dealer. This mean its the alternator? HELP PLEASE.

i have heard from an advance auto guy that a quick way to test the alternator is by starting the car and then disconnecting positive cable. if the car keeps running the alternator is good.
btw your local auto store like auto zone do free battery and alternator testing.
