What's up guys. I'm new to this and need some help. I've been the owner of a 2000 s4 for the last threee yrs. I just recently had a major accident and wrecked the car. Luckily the engine and transmission were spared any damage. I inherited a 97 a4 2.8. I was wondering how hard is it to convert the wiring to work with tis engine. For now until the insurance takes my car I can pretty much grab everything needed for the swap. I just need to know what's critical to take, and should i bother with the 97 or just get a later style(99.5 up. Also if i geta later style so ineed to have an S4 or will a a4 work. Noted i do know the 2.7 is drive by wire while the 97 is cable.

i thought 2000 S4 was Cable and only 01-02 were DBW?

Negative on that - all were DBW.

Yep - all the 2.7t's were run by Bosch ME7 and had DBW.

Any suggestions on what i should do, or just go for another s4 body and call it a day?
