Default abradable turbo compressor coatings. aka zero clearnance treatment

Im not around here much lately. But a few years ago there was alot of discussion about abradable coating treatment for turbo compressor housings to tighten up the compressor clearance and improve turbo efficiency. I think Buen Engineering was doing this treatment.

I can't find any place that is doing this for automotive turbines. Was this just a passing fad? I have a scored compressor housing right now, and thought the abradable coating might fill some scoring, and improve efficiency at the same time.

Any thoughts?
