Backfire
Ok you guys helped me a lot with engine pics a while back, but now I have another question. Basically I had a mechanic take on the car that had no idea how to fix it(hack), so now it is back home and has some issues. It is starting but backfires through the intake.
The car is all hooked up minus two electrical connections I see(I can't find what they connect to, he said it was missing components but didn't know what). The timing was checked with the bar tool and compression is good. Can someone lead me to the next possible thing to check?
Thanks so much for the help.

When does backfire occur?
The fuel trim is important to see because it can give an indication of what is going on with the fuel system since there seems to be backfire. Since you may not have access to factory scan tool/equipment you may want to take a look at spark plugs(check their conditions to isolate a cylinder, https://wiki.bentleypublishers.com/d...park+plugs)and then take it from there! If the timing is correct maybe there is a valve problem? Good luck!

I have a suspicion that some of this is not hooked up right(obviously with loose connectors). I have taken some photos hoping an expert on here can spot some bad connections. The first photo shows the 2 loose connectors. Let me know anything that stands out or better yet if everything is ok.
