Default Bad misfire under load

Hello all. I'm new to the forums, but not new to Audi/VW. I own 2 VW's (a '67 Ghia and a '98 Jetta GLX VR6).

I recently purchased a 2001 Audi S4 6MT. Car has 86K on the clock and an AWE boost gauge installed. I can drive the car and it runs fine, I can drive "spirited" and not hit full throttle and the car will drive fine as well. But as soon as I put the pedal to the floor the boost goes to 10 PSI, and then jumps above 10. Sometimes it goes to around 15 sometimes momentarily to around 20 PSI, when it reaches boost over 10 PSI there is a violent shudder under the hood and the check engine light would come on (until I clear the code).

There are 3 code present, and the 3 codes keep coming back: P1131 and P1113, Bank 1 sensor 1 and Bank 2 sensor 1 O2's having too much resistance on the heater circuit. The third code being P0304, misfire on cylinder number 4.

Does anyone have any experience with this problem or working on 2.7T's? I'm new to the world of boost so any help would be appreciated.

Garrett

Default sounds like both of your oxygen sensors are shot. if you search the forum archives,

you can find out the part number, how to replace them, etc.

also, you will probably want to pressure test your car. AWE sells a pressure testing kit, all you need is a regulated air pressure supply. All of that info is in the archives as well.

your misfires could be due to plug or coil. plugs are cheaper to replace.

Pressure test is fine. And the plugs are fine and freshly replaced. If the coil is moved from cyl to cyl the misfire stays in that cyl.

I know what I need and how to replace them, just wanted to know if someone could consult a service manual for a proper testing of the O2 sensors?

No, fuel shut off is Pre 7k RPM. I know, I can't figure out why the misfire/ wrong air fuel mixture could cause the turbo's to create more boost. Unless the wastegates are malfunctioning?

Default okay, what pressure did you test to? did you make sure you torque the plugs to the

proper spec? if it's still in that cylinder, you have larger issues, but with bad oxygen sensors, you'll never know for sure.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. Your oxygen sensors are bad. Period. There's no testing needed. Most on here have had them fail well before 86k miles. Replace them. End of story, end of problem.

No no, I understand. I'm a technician for Ford's. I wanted to test the sensors, I don't like the throw parts at a car to try to fix it.

And yes, everything is torqued properly. I just wasn't sure if there was a common problem present with these cars.

Well I got both sensors today and will install them tomorrow. Any idea on what torque spec is on the O2's? Hopefully this fixed the problem!

Default not sure exactly. oh, and replying in the subject line is much cleaner looking than

leaving it as re: your previous subject here.
