Can someone please help explain the difference between a diverter Valve and a Blow off Valve? I've only used Div. Valves (purchassed at AWE Tuning) in the past and was thinking about switching to BOV's to get that "swoosh" sound I keep hearing about. Will I hear a significant difference in the sound if I switch? For waht it's worth, I've been looking at ways to increase (albeit moderately) the engine note in my 03' A6 2.7t. and thought the BOV might add to my audible enjoyment.

I saw the BOV's below for about $150 each. Any idea if they're good?

I suggest you do some searching both here and on Audizine

our ECMs take into account the extra air that the diverter valve puts back into the system - if the BOV exhausts that extra air to the atmosphere, your ECM won't know, and you'll be running rich

Spare no expense in BOV! Stick with aftermarket/OEM DV....if its the whoosh sound your looking for, Forge motorsport makes a 50/50 DV. Also have a buddy that uses the 50/50 DV, he currently has it set at 25/75...it works!
