Default Believe it or not, neither. Final cause was never determined with 100% accuracy but best bet shows

oil pump over pressure and valve float followed by crunch. Water pump, timing belt, tensioner all looked fine. No damage to turbos. No FOD in ics. It was a very strange occurence, indeed.

The oilpump over pressure problem was supposed to be corrected on the 2.7t with an internal pressure release valve integrated into the oil pump. Although the valve tested properly outside the vehicle, it 'could' have failed in one cycle and not the next.

I've had discussions with about every known 2.7t 'expert' in this country and even talked to cosworth. No one has seen this occure before. Occurred not long after startup at around 2600-2700 rpm.

Default rest of the car fine?

if the rest of the car is fine...whats the estimate on the fix...interested in selling it etc

Default The car has been fixed for a while now -- just gave me a chance to do the turbos, cams, et al when i

put the new motor in.
