Default clutch help

i have an 02 s4 and my cluthc is acting funny 1st no reverse for about 1 day then its fine for about a week then no 1st for a day or 2 then its fine then for a few weeks now it wont go in any gear while running, and it rarely goes into reverse even when not running. what could this be? the clutch has never slipped and tranny hase never grinded. no problems til this. i think its just a bleed issue but i dont know where tho find the bleeder or anything this is my 1st audi ive had it about a year it only has 66k mi original, so i really dont think its the clutch. its all stock. thanks for your help. i cant find anything. i didnt really have time to search im in the military, sorry

Default When it wouldn't go into R, did you try shifting into other gears w/clutch disengaged and then go to

Reverse? There are known issues with the PP (diaphragm spring failures). It could be this, or it could be the slave cylinder. Slave cylinder can be repaired, but it is difficult to find as it is on top of tranny near firewall. If it is not the slave, then you will need to drop tranny as a minimum, but realistically the engine/tranny has to come out as a unit. S4 clutches are not known for their stoutness nor longevity. Sorry to hear this. 66k on the original clutch/PP is going great, BTW. I've had 2 PP's fail within 50k miles (bone stock, no launches, pretty easy driving and my prior car's clutch lasted 120k miles and was still going strong).
