Default DV and TBB

Hello im new to the website and am a new owner of a 02 s4. as soon as I got it I had to replace my turbos. Once I got it back the car didn't feel as powerful any more. I send it back and they replaced the dv and tbb. The car feels great. Does an after market dv and tbb void warranty? I've heard these are known to go out.

Generally Yes! If you paid $2000 for a warranty and they did $3000 work for your turbos likely they'll do anything to not pay for anything else.

Default I don't see why they would

Generally, things only void the warranty if they cause the damage to be repaired. While certain performance upgrades (e.g., chip, bigger turbos) can make it more likely to have engine problems, I don't see how an upgraded DV or TBB alone would increase the risk of damage. Has Audi taken a hard line against upgraded DVs and TBBs?

Default yes, it's actually because DVs are considered part of the emissions system.

I actually asked my dealership about upgrading from 710A to 710N diverter valves. They said that the 710N wasn't designed for the 2.7tt (which is true, though it's all the same design) and therefore would void the emissions warranty.

Now, things to take into consideration.

1. This is Thoroughbred Audi, and they suck.
2. Unless someone actually looked at the part number, they'd never know, as long as it was an Audi diverter valve. (Springed diverter valves need not apply here, as according to them, that would also void the warranty.)
3. This could be completely different at another dealership. Your results may vary.
4. The dealership told me that had my 710A dvs failed, they would have had to replace them with 710A. Now how retarded is that?

I think you have a bad dealer, but it shows that you have to be careful

I *know* they are a bad dealer. Don't have to tell me.
