If I buy a second ecu to upgrade does it matter if its a different part # for instance I have 2001.5 S4 and say I buy an ECU from a wrecked 2002 S4 Or do the part #'s have to be exactly the same?

I missed out on this one do you know if any others will fit? Part# etc. Also what is the best upgrade chip? MTM, GIAC? Other?
