Has anyone had to put more than 6.3 qts in after oil change to get the dipstick to read right?

Ran the engine for a minute, even drove it a bit but still had to add another qt to get it to read correctly.

Default did you change the filter?

our engine, with the filter change, takes 6.9 quarts.

do you have an aftermarket oil cooler? correct oil filter?

Default Mobil synth qts. 6 of em' and a little of the 7th, then later added more

I hope i didn't damage anything. I did go for a drive last night with 6.3 qts. My cell came on, cleared it but it didn't come back. Seems fine, turbos sound normal.

I usually dump 7 quarts in there and have had no problems, knock on wood.

Cant you ruin your cat-conv by adding to much oil?? Plus the damage you do to your seals and gaskets

Default i'm not too worried about 0.1 quarts, especially since i never get it all

out of the bottle anyway. now, if it was 0.2 quarts, then I would be worried. LOL.

but yes, filling it over the full line (mine never is) could cause damage, yes.
