Default How accurate is actual boost from VAGCOM tool? 22PSI?? with stock fueling?

1) We put a manual boost controller on my buddies 00' S4 tiptronic with KO4s, MTM stage 1 ECU, full exhaust, and no fueling upgrades. He has a $10 Ebay boost gauge. We set the boost at 15 PSI on his gauge but when we logged it with VAG actual boost was 2540 or about 22 PSI. Do you trust the VAG, or the boost gauge?

2) The car ran great with this questionable 22 PSI of boost. I expected it to lean out and pull timing, but correction factors were never more than 3 and an air fuel gauge never leaned out. Does it seem plausible the stock fuel system could keep up with this boost?

Thanks for any input guys.

Default try dropping the boost on the manual boost controller and re-log.

22 psi on stock fueling is probably beyond pushing it. Do you have a wideband?

Default did adjust the boost and the VAG changed appropriately but the gauge stayed at 15 PSI...

This points to a crappy boost gauge, but the confusing part to me was that the car seemed to handle the boost with no problems and lots of power despite what seems like too much boost for the stock fuel system. I was watching correction factors in real time to see if the car would pull timing but his CF's were low around 3. I have AWE stage 3 fueling and my CF's are around 6 at about 19 PSI of boost. Am I wrong to think his car was running OK because of the low CF's.
Thanks for any input

Default you're watching it on vagcom.

that's the first problem. vagcom doesn't pull enough data per second to see what you need to see. ECUx does.

second, you're working off of a narrowband oxygen sensor. you need wideband when you start trying to figure out okay or no.

third, try searching the archives for stage 3- setups. that's basically what you have, and you'll find the boost cap
