Default I have an air leak!

I have an 2000 Audi A6 2.7t... I have an air leak, I think it might be a vacuum line, but I check out the hoses, and they dont seem to be old, so then I press down on the hoses, and it kind of fixed the noise, but not exactly, so then I saw, which I think were the fuel rails(the metal tubes that were by the hoses on top of the engine), and I put pressure on the line, and i think if fixed the noise, but I have to keep pressing it down to fix the air leak noises, but I didnt see any cracks in the metal tubing, so I dont know if thats where the leak is comming from. My buddy has an S4, with a 2.7t, and his doesnt sound anything like mine, where the leak of my car is comming from. So, whats the deal? What could it be? Something simple like new hoses? or something that would cost me a lot of money.
