Just completed Secondary Water Pump and Alternator Swap...long
The alternator was straight forward. No problems at all. Pulled the bumper and lock carrier/front end whatever.
The secondary water pump wasn't that bad, but I did break some things. Getting the bolts in and out was easy. While disconnecting the N75 I broke one of the EGR lines. (170$ worth, I spliced it, but am going to order the proper replacement) Also, a T fitting that goes from the fuel rail to the N249 broke. The line goes all the way down to the fuel canister I think. Dealer told me to just splice a new T on to it.
I also broke the T fitting for the fuel regulator/boost gauge. That was the easiest fix but took all day to find one.
All in all, it wasn't hard nor did take that long. Probably 5 hours total of actual work, not counting fixing the stuff I broke. Who's bright idea was it to use all that plastic above the turbos?
