I have a 2000 Audi S4 with 60k miles on it. Currently the car has a couple minor mods done to it including a evolution motorsports intake, a short shirter, GIAC x type chip, and uuc motorwerks exhaust. I am in a bind because I brought my car to my mechanic and he told me that the seals are bad in the left turbo, and it is pushing oil through the intercoler. I know that I need to replace the bad turbo with a new or used turbo, and that Audi recommends that you replace both turbos at the same time. I know that I want to go with new turbos, but I can't make up my mind when it comes down to either buying a set of new K03's or spending a few extra bucks and buying the K04's. With the little bit of engine mods that are done to the car is it worth it to go and buy the K04's and get the necessary parts to run and handle the K04's properly? I have to pay the mechanic the same amount for labor whether im putting on K03's or K04's because he has to pull the engine, so can someone please help me and point me in the right direction? ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!

Get the K04s. Anything else is a waste of money.

Ya, thats what I was thinking too, but I figured I would ask people and get some advice from people that know more than me about that. Do you think I should go buy an expensive kit from APR, or AWE or do you think I should buy everthing piece by piece from other audi enthusiast? I think I can save a lot of money that way, but I don't know if thats the best way to go. Also, should what version of the KO4's should I go with?

they might just tell you to use the search feature.....if you dont want to spend all the money at once to go straight stage 3 than go with K04s and inlets, you can do fueling later....You will probly want to get downpipes at the same time just since its wont cost anymore to install them since it will be real easy for the mechanic to install them while the engine is pulled, Id get piggies cause they are cheaper and as effective. You also have options on turbos to, there are hybrids and you can search more on that subject. BTW use the subject line to reply cause otherwise its really fvcking annoying.

I'm assuming ko3s are out of warranty. If so hands down get k04's. at the same time do the necesarry maintence, waterpump, serpentine belt, timing belt, thermastat as well. better now than later. be good for another 60k miles at least then.

time tweaking it yourself? note that you *need* to know what youre doing before you start tweaking yourself or you'll likely screw something up.

The same thing just happened to me and im going with k03/k16 hybrids..they bolt on and you dont need to change anything else but the turbos
