Default maf question.....

so i get a check engine light on and find out its the maf. i have a bosh maf. searched around here and heard cleaning the maf might clear the code. i took the sensor out of the hosuing by removing the security torx bolts. now iv'e heard that i need to clean the metal wires but i can't see them. is the opening at the bottom of the sensor where they are located. p.s sorry for bad grammer shift key is not working.
