Mk2 bi-turbo 06-04-2019 11:47 AM

My RWD 2.7t mk2 golf engine build question.

So probably a bit of an explanation required here.
I built a mk2 golf gti converted it to RWD using BMW E90 M3 subfraims and droped in a 2.7t on a bmw 5 5speed gearbox.. But it's a 200k mile engine that I have been thrashing on in this golf for 2 years and now it's started to fill the catch can with oil after a morning at the track. So probably time to build another engine.. So currently it has
ARE Engine
Front mount
650cc injectors
BOSH 044s
KO4s
Tubular manifold
No cats straight through exhausts
ITG filter
Oil cooler 19 row
Adjustable FPR
Billet fuel rails
R8 coil packs
LINK Thunder ECU
LINK AIM Strada dash

So I have a another engine sat in the corner it ran when I took it out I belive its an AJK I also have some heads from a 2.8 with bigger ports. So if I am rebuilding this AJK engine should I use the bigger heads should I put in fordged rods what head gaskets do people recommend should I go all out on ARP Bolts. Will I need a bigger inlet manifold

Can I bore the 2.7 out with new pistons.

The stock hi mileage ARE engine has been solid and still is I could just fit a larger catch can and carry on but I have another engine so be silly not to have it ready. 😉

Cheers

That is a really cool build! I have owned many Mk2 VW's, and I've daydreamed endlessly about various engine & driveline swaps, but never quite thought-up a 2.7tt RWD swap. Very cool that you did, and then made it happen!
