new member! 2004 a6 2.7 s-line air filter question
 

hi guys. im new to the site and this is my first post. i have a 2004 a6 2.7t s-line and love it. just curious in regards to the air filter. would putting in a k&n air filter help at all? or even a cold air intake? just looking at small upgrades to do. i will be doing the clear corner mod soon. thanks guys i appreciate any input. i have had audi's in the past as well and currently i do have a great audi mechanic.

You have a CAI. The stock design pulls in air forward of the motor and therefore is usually cooler than anywhere else you could get it from. K & N filters have to be lubed perfectly or it will mess up your MAF sensor. You will be chasing odd codes until you toss that thing in the trash with that cold air intake plan. Get a chip if you want gains and 0 mechanical work on your end. These cars have been around long enough now, and I'm sure there are a couple geeks in an apartment somewhere writing code for this crap in there spare time.
