Obviously I'm new here.
I recently traded in my 2000 a6 2.7t for an 2001 S4 Tiptronic. w/50k My plan is to get an MTM stage one chip (unless someone suggests/proves something better) Is the transmission chip really needed? Diverter Valve upgrade? What is the best quiet exhaust? I don't like to be a showoff but I'd like to get the car moving without significant impact on its longevity.
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!
Thanks, Chuck

Re: skip MTM. go Giac or ASP or APR. Tip chip is necessary. DV upgrade = necessary
How much HP/Trq can I go before its detramental to the tranny even with tip chip?
By the way thanks alot!
APR and GIAC are avaliable locally 2 diff shops though! Whats a good price to pay? Giac is $1400 for ecu and tcu chip with upgraded diverter valves installed. Don't know pricing on APR.
Milltek or Vibrant exhaust.
I can get a vibrant system for $595 but still have to pay to be installed. Good price?
Also how bout intake or should I just get a high flow air filter? What brand is best either way?
Thanks again, Chuck

loaded question, but you'll be fine with the chip/tip chip
Always keep an eye on the classifieds for used chips.
Borrow some ramps/jack stands or ask a shop to let you borrow a lift for an hour. Install the exhaust yourself.
Intake is ok, just no oiled filters. Skip K&N, fyi. Stock filter is just fine. STFA for Darintake.
