OCT or GIAC Tip Chip
Anyone have experience with either of these companies and their Tiptronic chips.
I have a 2001 S4 with 36K miles and am holding off chipping the car as I can't decide who to go with.

Re: OCT would get you laughed off of the face of the earth in the B5S4 forum.
It's that serious huh. I guess I'll have to seriously consider APR then.
Have you heard that without a tip chip the transmission can only handle a certain amount of the torque produced with a stage 1 chip because of the duty cycle not being maximized.

Go with GIAC, lots of us have them, do both at the same time
The Tip will handle the CIAC ECU chip fine with out chipping the TCU.
The ECU is flashed, so most any shops do it onsite, the TCU is a plug in chip, & might need to be sent out.
Read my PSA below about the GIAC ECU code for tip cars.
