oil in intake
I recently purchased a big bore intake from ABD Racing. Not cerain if it serves any benefit, but it looks cool. Anyway, when I was taking off the old accordion style hose I notice a little pool of oil. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Also my car has been giving off a whiny sound. I've heard when the turbos are shatting, they do this. Or could this be something else? Any thoughts?

Re: If it is alittle it is normal. Trust me when your turbos go you will know :-)
Thanks for the input. I'm not in the market to purchase turbos just yet. As far as the turbos being junk....I dynoed my car and got 224 to the wheels. Do you think that is a good number. I have an GIAC x chip as my only mod.

not sure what type of dyno it was. The guy said it was the latest and the greatest and was a different set up to traditional dynos. I am running 91 octane. Maybe you can answer a question I have. When I bought my X chip I bought it programmed for 93 octane. Do you think that is why the performance isn't as great? And maybe could be the cause of a rough idle (misfire) at idle?

IIRC X chip is supposed to adapt to 91 or 93 octane. Miss fires could be a number of things.
Vacuum leak, boost leak, bad coil packs, bad spark plugs, fuel injectors, bad MAF, etc...
Do you have a vag com cable? If so run logs for blocks 13,14, and 15.
I'd also search on the B5S4 forum for the miss fires, lots of ideas and solutions there.

I have a Vag cable that use to belong to my buddy. He had a 98 A6 2.8. Would that still work on my car?I will do some research on the misfires. Thanks for the info
