250, constantly, maybe. above 250 all the time, then it's time to get worried.

Default I've never reached 250, and I drive HARD in ATL summers. 2.7t or 4.2
I know while tracking, people get the oil temps up high, but I agree with quickaudi, if 250 or higher is constant, I'd get it checked out.

I've only hit 250 one time, and that was after a 20 minute, track-like run on the tail of the dragon

there's a DIY oil cooler in the archives for like $100 or so.

What oil are you running? Can have significant effect depending on what viscosity and type.

its weird it seems like the gauge is all over the place sometimes. it will almost peg out then cool down where is the oil cooler located on this car is water cooled or air cooled. where is that diy

Default oil temp gauge all over the place or the coolant temp gauge all over the place?
stock oil cooler is air cooled

the oil cooler diy is in the archives and also probably a tech article
