Default pinging

ok I am getting a slight pinging when going up hill with semi wide open throttle. The car lacks power. I know an EGR valve may be the culprit but is there other things I should consider? I dont use anything less than 91 octane. I just changed out my throttle body boot! I know my turbos are on their las leg since hey have a high pitched sound coming from them. I also noticed that I have a whoosh sound coming from the engine area when I let off throttle. I have an open air K&N filter so could that be it? I hear a sucking but should it be whooshing when I let off throttle Any help would be appreciated
