Default Prefered Oil? What do you all use ....

Okay so I used to use Mobil 1 in my Jetta ... wanted to know what you all recommend for the 2.7T A6 engine.

Thanks,

Default I would not use anything with a cold viscosity higher than 0

The big issue with lubrication on these engines is the turbos. There is no practical way of keeping them from spinning while warming up the engine so they need as close as possible to warm viscosity oil all the time. Audi switched the oil spec from 5-30 to 0-30 in 2001 after lots of blown turbos on 99 and 00 S4s. There is no downside to 0-30 or 0-40 over 5-30, 5-40 but there is the upside of better lubrication cold. I would very much recommend synthetic in any case.
