RS4 Tranny Mounts engine/ tranny propshaft alignment
Just lifted the engine in after K04, RS4 clutch, RS4 motor and tranny mounts( Subframe drop method). The tranny mounts are different than the stock mounts. The mounting wholes are larger and thus allows considerable adjustment for engine/tranny positioning on subframe. I am concern about engine positioning. Looks perfect by eyeballing but, Anyway to confirm tranny, engine and prop shaft alignment?

Yes, BTDT on several 44 chassis cars. With the rear drive shaft and center bearing removed,...
thus the tranny and rear CV flanges facing each other, Stretch a tight string line between the ODs of the two flanges, in both the horizontal and vertical planes. With a machinest's square on the CV flange face, check the line for right angle square with the flange, on both flanges, in both planes. Adjust engine and/or rear end until all measurements are square. In one case, I had to rotate the engine/tranny around its veriical axis and raise the rear mount of the rear end for exact alignment. Afterwhich, if you align the prop shaft center bearing to also be on axis in both planes, you will have the smoothest running power system that you've ever witnessed. Good luck, report back.
