Default swapping 4.2 V8 into the 2.7T bay

2 questions:

- Does the new S4 V8 with it's 6sp fit into the
2.7T A6/AR frame?

- Does the new S4 V8 engine bolt pattern matches
the 2.7T 6sp tranny?

Thanks,
F.

Default Audi stretched the A6 in order to fit the 4.2 into it. Unless you have more...

... engineering capability than Audi, you'll never get it in.

1) I can not get the V8 Allroad in Canada
2) there is no 6sp with V8 (except in the new S4)
3) the V8 has a wider rpm range and weight the same

the "new V8" with the timing belt in the back
fits in the new S4 (tip and 6sp) and in the
Allroad (same as the A6). Your story about the
streched A6 applies to the older V8.

No I do not have more engineering capability
than Audi, I just want to leverage what they
have recently done in the repackaging of the V8!
This should be possible in the bolt on category,
I guess from the quality of the replies, nobody
has done it!

Default I recently traded the B5 S4 for the B6 S4, I can't argue with you for trying to get a V8

but wouldn't it be easier to import a Allroad with V8 from the US? According to RIV.ca it doesn't say that the 05 Allroad is inadmissable. In my experience this is a good sign, as they usually will miss vehicles that may enter Canada, but they will not miss the one's that can't.

Good Luck, and if you get the V8 into the Allroad (either importing or modifying) you will love the car.
