Default timing belt just done today now loud whining sound when accelerating

just had timing belt and all acessories replaced, including the dampener, now it whines a little when idling but louder when accelerating? any ideas, started as soon as my wife picked it up today

The drive belt may be making noise. Also check the drive belt routing. Please let me know what you find.

Default mechanic towed it in today for free and said it is bcus belt and tensioner are brand new and tight

does this sound right anyone heard of this?

i'm looking to purchase first audi ..possibly a 2000,or 01' a6 .. could someone enlighten me on timing belt maintanace cost and also at what mileage ??

If the timing belt is the one making the noise then the tensioner was set to tight. Who ever did the timing job has the T belt too tight.

Around $800 bucks. I am going to do it at 75k or 80k the latest.

Default I thought the hydraulic timig belt tensioner was

supposed to put as much tension on the belt as needed
Could you please enlighten me on how you can over-tension?

Default I've seen Hondas do this until the belt breaks in, but not on an Audi.>>>

Who did the work? Is he a reputable Audi tech?

I had a similar sound...kind of like an electric drill. Turned out that the turbos were not getting enough oil. The quickly blew, and now I have to replace. Saved myself $1500 on a timing belt job, just to cost myself $3000+ on a turbo replacement.
