Default Very Poor MPG. Dealer saying that car is ok

2003 A6 2.7T
Ok, I got this car with 24k miles on it. I'm doing 12-14 mpg city and 18 highway. Took the car into the dealer and here is what they said on the service report:

" No vacuum leaks and fuel trims right in range. Only System fault found was for Bank 1 sensor 1 02 sensor. "

They are telling me that if the computer does not give them a code they "dont" know what the problem could be.

So to all you 2.7T drivers out there please give me some answers to these questions:

Have you experienced this problem in your car?

Have you fixed it, what caused the problem?

Any ideas on what could it be?

Could have to do with the bad O2 sensor, or perhaps a bad/failing temp sensor

Default Re: that ONE system fault is a bad primary O2 sensor. That could easily cause

all of your problems. Replace all of them and your worries will mostly go away.

Might want to check for boost leaks (again) and replace your air filter while you're at it. I gained 2 mpg from a new air filter.

Yes, a bad primary o2 sensor will kill gas mileage. I've expierenced the problem in the past.
