ENGINE KNOCK/CLICKING HELP!!! B8.5 S4
Seriously need help! Was at the track a couple days ago, car did a horrible time, (only got one run and car wasn't heat soaked) ran fine, did two launch controls after, everything was fine. 2 hr ride back home, cruse control on, everything sounded fine, hour left on the trip, had to make a gas stop... and boom. Out of no where, I slow down to switch lanes, and when try I try speed up. Car starts making a tapping noise/knocking and shaking pretty bad as I press the gas. NO CODES OR LIGHTS ON DASH. I pull over, check if i can see anything, and everything seems normal (except the knocking/clicking and motor shaking). Been a couple days, today I had ordered a used supercharge.. (thought it was the blower since knocking/clicking comes from the top, and you can feel lit when you put your hand on the blower) ... changed the blower, ANDDD nothing.. SAME KNOCKING/CLICKING.
ANYONE HAVE ANY CLUE? THANKS IN ADVANCED.

I can't imagine why the check engine light won't come up. Did you look inside the engine to see if any of the sensor came loose, or if the belt got loose? I've never heard of the blower blowing up unless you have some serious power.
I'd take the plugs out and check to see if you can see any signs of detonation.

Suspect upper chain adjuster failing. If you remove the oil fill cap with engine idling, the idle will drop a bit due to vacuum leak so do not do this for very long, but do you hear a trunk monkey with a ball peen hammer smacking shiny metal in rythmic timing to engine idle? If so strongly suggests cam adjuster guide broke causing cyclic over extension and low power with no codes. Be hopeful as the only saving grace if this is true then can be repaired without engine pull for full chain service!

Post similar video audio clip and most importantly include physical zoom into removed oil fill cap with engine at idle.
Most likely chain issue and only question is engine pull or possible upper chain repair without pull.
What does a VAG scan report?
