Default 2006 A4 3.2L Intake Camshaft Bank 2

I purchased my Audi not very long ago as a bit of a project. The car needed upper tensioners replaced. Done. I experienced low fuel rail pressure. Replaced HPFP and cam follower. Done. There was wear on the cam follower and figured I'll see how far it will go. Now I have the same low fuel rail code and I believe that the camshaft is worn. I'm on the fence about replacing the cam. Time and money for an older car. Would I have to pull the engine or remove the head to remove this cam due to the extra length that drives the HPFP? Or can you slide the cam back, lift it a bit and slide it out going toward the front of the car? Has anyone done this job and what was their experience completing the work and the results, short or long term, afterward?
