Default I think it is pretty close to the current torque output of the motor...

Otherwise they would be putting dsg's on S4's or RS6's. I think they are working on a beefier version for the next generation S6, et. al. (longitudinal versus transverse box)

How much do you want to push this unit?

Default The TT/A3 version is 350 Nm (258 ft lb), however its just the clutches that limit the torque

At least physically. Update the clutches and you get more out of the tranny. I'm not sure if there are also software limitations as well (if you're thinking of just replacing the clutches).

How exactly does it "limit" the torque? (not disputing, just curious)

Default if there were more torque...

it would tear up the clutch discs in the tranny.

I read somewhere that HPA says DSG is good for 400 ft lb, above that they recommend their upgrade

Default HPA does a software revision for torque over 400 ft lbs, unfortunately the TCU is located inside the

transmission case.
