Oil Catch Can for Mk I TT 3.2
Greetings,
I am wondering if anyone has an opinion re the advisability of installing an oil catch can in my model (or how to do it if they have done this mod....) There is basically no information on the PCV system for the Mk I in the Bentley manual--a picture of the engine bay only shows a short hose going from the VR6'oil separator' mounted on the head (near the oil filler port)to the intake manifold (where there is a 'PCV heating element attached). Does this 'oil separator' act as a 'catch can' and prevent oil from going into the induction system ? Not sure if a (real) catch can would be placed in-line between these two connections (or at another spot--there is no shortage of vacuum hoses below and to the right of the motor).
It certainly was easier to troubleshoot the PCV system on my 1966 Impala SS 396 !
TIA,
