3.2L A6 surging engine various camshaft erross
Hi Guys,
My 2005 3.2 A6 has been running rough recently. When I start the car the engine idle is inconsistent. It will drop low like it is going to die then rev back up while it is in park. When driving at low speeds (under 35mph) and have light pressure on the accelerator the engine will surge. you can see it in subtle spikes on the speedometer and can feel the car subtly surge forward. I took it into the dealership to try to get it diagnosed. $200 later they told me i needed a new camshaft valve solenoid which would be another $300. I took it home, ordered the part and got it done for $80. It ran slightly better but not much. I took it to my local mechanic to get the oil changed to see if that would help and to have him run it for error codes. He mentioned the oil looked pretty dark and also gave me the following codes:
P0020 - Camshaft position actuator bank 2
P2543 - Low pressure fuel system sensor
P1536 - Intake camshaft control bank 2
P1528 - Intake camshaft control bank 1
P0021 - Camshaft position timing bank 2
P0346 - Camshaft position intake
P0341 - Camshaft position sensor
All of these are related in my eyes and I am wondering if I have one overarching issue that is causing it to throw all of these errors. Im not very familiar with how the system work and what might be wrong.
Any advice on where to start or what to look for would be much appreciated!
