2000 A6 Quattro 2.8L. Can anyone tell me what this is supposed to be plugged into? The car runs fine, no CEL. It is not attached to anything. It is on the left side (passenger) of the engine and appears to run from behind the engine.

Is it a plug in for a diagnostic tool? Like a special German timing light or something? I am sure one of the Audi dudes will know.

looks just like cam sensor connector. But it looks like its down there. by the looks of it, its never been connected. probably just something not needed, saved money using a more universal harness
