Just picked up a 2002 Audi A6 3.0 for my son. 150,000 miles. Runs excellent but developed a coolant leak a few days after purchasing. Leaking drivers side of rear engine. Can't pin point leak. Replaced Throttle body. Double checked for leaks. Can't see any leaks under rear of intake. Once leak started we lost speedo. I checked speed sensor and leak caused speed sensor to get wet. So leak is above or close to drivers side wheel speed sensor. Cars temp stays at middle of gauge. Needle never budges on on water temp gauge. I am leaning towards auxiliary water pump. Any thoughts?

Might have find it.
Hmm....,,Just out side of the coolant pipe that runs between the heads is another piece bolted to both heads. The left one has a Allen screw in one home. And glue/silicon in the other. The right side has a Allen screw and nothing in small hole. Could this be my leak? What is this part?

Theres a coolant nipple that threads into the big water manifold that connects both cylinder heads and goes under the intake, those will leak. There is also the 2 orings on the water manifold to cylinder head, as well as the quick connect heater hose fitting that commonly leaks.

Hey pull the large plastic cover off over the battery and master cylinder area. The 2 heater hoses can leak, and create a pin hole and pee out coolant. The drains for the coolant are right by the steering rack.

Heater hose quick disconnect
Leak was top heater hose quick disconnect O ring. I already had a O ring kit. Fixed it last night. 👍✌️
