vibration at around 1500 revs
Hi I'm new to this forum and female.
I have just purchased a 2000 A4 2.8 auto quattro estate.
I have been running it for three weeks with no problems but it has just developed a vibration/drone which seems only to be felt on slow accelerating up, at around 1500-2000 revs, but goes away as soon as top gear is reached. Gear change is smooth and responsive.
It has been suggested to me that it could be the tyres rather than my fear of it being anything to do with the transmission.
It has Pirelli 6000 on the rear but some unknown make on the front possibly of lower quality but all with good tread.
Any suggestions please

I had the same issue. In my case it was back-pressure going through a hollow cat. I did a cat delete because one was hollow and one was not. The pitch of this vibration changed after the cat delete, to i know it was from exhaust pressure. Even revving at idle it vibrated as the needle passed 1800rpm and again when it fell back past it. I think its exhaust vibration. Hope that helps.
