Default 16395 error code (autel) VVT valves

I´m new to this forum but have had an audi for the best part of the last 15 years and own a audi A6 C6 4.2L 2005 today and just replaced all four timing chains+ tensioner except the two on the top after timing failure (had to replace all intake valves on bank 2).

Now i´ve been driving the car for 3 weeks without any issues, but now i got an error code (16395) Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced)

i´ve just pulled the N205 valve from the engine and started searching for it online but the only part i can find is 079 109 210 L and that is the complete timing case and costs around 1000 dollars!!!
https://www.europaparts.com/camshaft...79109210l.html

I find it pretty steep to buy the complete timing case instead of being able to buy just the valve. the valves are usally priced around 100 dollars
for examble 06E 109 257L but that is for the 3.2L engine or 06E 109 257P that is for the 4.2L engine but 2007-2011
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...vag-06e109257l

does anyone know if there is any difference between those valves except how the electrical plug is on the back of the valve?

I´ve already gone to the dealership here in iceland but they unwilling to assist in these thoughts of mine and i´ve also sent an email to audi in hannover, germany, yet to receive an answer, so i´m asking for your help.

Best regards from iceland (and sorry for spelling errors as this is my 3rd language)

For additional info:
Audi A6 C6
year: 2005
engine: 4.2L
engine code: BAT

I'm in the same boat as you and hope to find similar answers. I have a 2006 A8L and have an N205 error (P1526 and P0012) and all of the N205 valves I can find are 2007 and newer. I really hope I don't need to shell out $1000 for a simple N205 valve replacement. And also, it makes the replacement seem infinitely more difficult. Everything I read, the N205 is a relatively easy-looking replacement.

I contacted the audi service here in iceland and they had no interest in helping me, and i tried to contact both audi in hannover in germany and audi AG in europe but the only thing they did was to forward my inqury to audi in iceland.
So no help there, but i cleaned the 205 valve with carburetor cleaner and tested it with 12 volts and it seemd to work better, so i put it in again and have been driving the car for the last weeks and all out of sudden the check engine light turned off and the error code was passive instead of active like it has been for the last weeks. will take a looooong drive tomorrow to check if the error code will come again, Will post the results.

but regarding more difficult replacement, it´s hell on earth to remove the N205 valve with out taking the engine out of the car, but it´s possible and yes only replacing the valve means that you don´t have to take the timing chain off.

puum since yesterday i´ve driven probably around 200 km with variable engine load and the N205 valve seems to be working perfectly, no error code and the engine is producing full power, not hesitating like it did, so cleaning the valve and a lot of driving seems to have done the trick.

hope it helps you in some way.
And please if you find some valve that fits instead of the original, post it here (with part no.) so others can see it.
